     Thank You!

Recently Lori Reichard, Cheryl Prusakiewicz, and Samantha Schnoor of Fifth Third Bank of Gaylord presented a large collection of historical photos, documents, and other memorabilia to the Otsego County Historical Society.  Accepting this generous gift are president Pam Duczkowski and executive director Jim Akans.

The bank ledgers shown in the photo to the left are from 1896-1898.

Otsego County STEM Pioneers

The Otsego County Historical Society in collaboration with the Otsego County
Library featured 10 local women who’ve made significant impacts in
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) at a special
presentation on Tuesday, March 21.  The 90 minute program was at the Otsego
  County Library.

“Otsego County STEM Pioneers” highlights the accomplishments of these
trailblazers from a wide range of professions:
Hazel Quick, Dr. Ruey Ford, Catherine Shannon Kay,
Irene Angus, Mary Kay Sklarczyk, Stacy Sklarczyk Paul,
Anna Estelle Jarvis, Rebecca Crawford Metzinger,
Joan Becker, and Hazel Kramer Shipp

The presentation honored these amazing accomplishments made throughout history and encourages young people today to pursue STEM related careers.     “Otsego County STEM Pioneers” coincides with the STEMinists Exhibit on display at the Library.  Bringing this traveling exhibit to Gaylord from the Michigan Women’s Historical Center & Hall of Fame was made possible by the AAUW Gaylord Branch and the Otsego County Community Foundation.
