Carving Club

Vol. 6 Number 1

April 2001

March Highlights

The March meeting was held at Jim Pike's Shop and called to order at 7:00 pm on 3-14-01.  There were 14
members and two guests present at
the meeting.  The Treasurers Report
was given.  As of the date of the meeting we had $3544.34 in our accounts.

Announcements:

I received the latest community cash from Carter's.  It was for $76.19.  The check was turned over to Jim Pike to be added to our treasury.

I picked up applications from GHS for our 2001 scholarship.  We get six applications.  The review process has begun and the committee will announce the name of the recipient as soon as possible.

The latest MWCA newsletter came via e-mail and I have printed it out and put it in the club library for anyone interested in reading it.

Jim Pike said he has received dues from a new member.  Dave Ross is our newest member.  He was not able to attend the meeting but we hope to see him at the April meeting.

We have received 34 table reservations for the show to date.  We are estimating 50-60.

Karen Barden has the volunteer list for the show.  Anyone who has not signed up to help can contact Karen.

Karen is still working on the vest project.  Anyone interested in purchasing a vest can contact her.

A report on the Stu Martin  seminar will appear in the next months newsletter.  I sat in on part of it the first day and everyone seemed to be doing a very good job on their carving.
