Building and Zoning Regulations:

Elmira Township subscribes to the Otsego County Planning and Zoning Regulations. This includes building permits and overall codes.  Elmira Township does have a recommendation process as part of the county Zoning Ordinance. Land Division is primarily done at the township level, but application and zoning regulations must be approved at the Otsego County Zoning office. Then the information is given to the township assessor.
