The mission of the Youth Advisory Council is to invest in youth as resources and leaders in the community; promote positive youth development; provide a forum for youth interests, needs, and problems; commit resources to effective youth development programs; and involve youth in philanthropy and volunteerism.

The Youth Advisory Council is responsible for evaluating and recommending grants for youth projects, and is active in promoting positive youth development in the community. YAC also periodically surveys their peers about important youth issues.

The Youth Advisory Council for 2008/2009 is comprised of fifteen students from high schools in Otsego County. Membership is open to any high school age student who lives Otsego County and wishes to enhance the quality of life for our area youth.
