Interim Director

Michigan Northern Lights chorus is pleased
to announce Laura Hotelling as our interim director.
While Laura’s most immediate experience
with us has been performing as a baritone, there is much more that
she brings to the table. As a drama and theatre leader at Gaylord
High School, she has a huge enthusiasm for all things “on stage”.
Many of you may have seen her in Gaylord Community Productions’ 2011
summer show, Willy Wonka! She was very happy to get to able to spend
her summer in Gaylord and participate in the production, with her
husband Aaron and son Ian.
Laura’s earlier activities in music
include marching and concert bands, church choirs and various
theatre productions at CMU. Currently, Laura is employed as a
Spanish and English instructor at Gaylord Middle School and as a
Spanish instructor at Gaylord High School, where she also directs
the theatre program. She has earned both her B.A. and Masters
Degrees from Central Michigan University.
Laura is a “home grown” talent as she has
lived, taught and performed in many locales of northern Michigan for
most of her life. She grew up in and graduated from Rogers City, and
after college, moved back north to DeTour Village, where she lived
before moving to Gaylord. We are lucky to have her believe in us and
work with us!
