"Before we begin our meeting, I'd
like to take a few minutes to explain this new technology we are using, the
OptionFinder system. Each of you has a keypad. We'll be asking you questions
and asking you to respond to them by pressing a number on your keypad. The
keypads use a radio signal to transmit the number to the computer software.
You do not have to point the keypad in any special direction.
"When we ask you to respond, press the number firmly and watch for it to
light up in the small red panel in the upper right of the keypad. When the
signal has been received, the number will go out and you will see three
horizontal bars displayed. When the transmission is complete, the three
horizontal bars will appear for three seconds and you will know that your
response has been correctly transmitted and received.
"If the number in the red panel blinks, or does not go out after 10 to 15
seconds, press the Reset button in the lower right corner of the keypad. Press
the number again. If the number is still blinking, move your keypad around
slightly and watch for the number to go out and horizontal bars to
appear.
"Each keypad has one vote; no matter who many times you press it, you
will still get only one vote! You may change your answer as many times as you
like until all the responses have been received and we move on to the next
question.
"Now, let's give it a try."
