Noon-4:00 PM

GACA’s annual Arts Week Tea will be a 35th birthday party for GACA, an occasion brimming with the traditional activities we’ve come to associate with the Tea, and with some delightful new twists.

The event will begin with a Little Gems exhibition and sale of original fine art, jewelry, cards and other gift items at Noon. A great way to start the Christmas shopping season. (Check out the table of Art Raffle prizes.)

The Tea starts at 2:00 PM. The menu includes fancy tea sandwiches, delicious desserts, birthday cake and select teas. (Some people bring their own favorite tea cup from which to sip.)

Entertainment will open with a lively medley of tunes from the popular and vivacious Billye Thatcher.

Then, the "Hat Lady," Bev Hain, will narrate a fashion show of approximately 40 vintage hats (a small portion of her collection) from the 1800’s to the 1960’s. The hats will be modeled by local women. Ms. Hain is traveling here from Hudsonville, MI. Her business is entitled “Hats on the Go,” and she has presented this history of feminine headgear many times and in many places across the state.

Speaking of hats, women wearing a hat, as always, will be eligible for a drawing for the door prize, a lovely teapot. In addition, a table of art and other items donated by area artists will be on display at the Little Gems exhibition and sale. Art Raffle tickets for these items may be purchased at the exhibition and later during the Tea.  All proceeds go to GACA.

The cost for this event is $20.35 per person (the 35 cents in honor of GACA’s birthday.) It is by reservation only. Call Liz Lixie at 989-939-8986 by Nov 1 to reserve spots for you, your family and friends.
