 2008 Arts Scholarships


                                                 Fine Arts Scholarship Awards (FASA)
GACA will award $200.00 scholarships to winning Otsego County applicants of all ages for continuing arts education. The scholarships will be in the areas of writing, music, theater, and visual arts. This year only, a Pauline Brown Dance Scholarship for $400.00 (donated by Priscilla Schmidt) will be awarded to a junior or senior in high school. It must be used at an accredited Dance Camp. If no one applies in a certain area, the scholarship money will not be awarded in that area of the arts.

A completed application along with, an essay & two letters of recommendation must be postmarked by May 8, 2008, so call the ArtsLine (732-3242) for an application today.

                                                 Visual Arts Scholarship Awards (VASA)
Open to Otsego County high school students willing to complete an application and submit a portfolio of five pieces of their art. Prizes for 11th &12th Grades: 1st Place $100; 2nd Place $75; 3rd Place $50.00; Honorable Mention Ribbons. Prizes for 9th and 10th Grades: 1st Place $75; 2nd Place $50; 3rd Place $25; Honorable Mention Ribbons.
Dates to Remember
Tues, May 13 by 4:30 pm: Drop off completed applicaion & portfolio at the Gaylord High School office, labeled "For Kym Inabinet." (School ph: 731-0969; Inabinet's extension: 1292.)
Tues, May 20, 3:15-3:45 pm: Reception and Award Ceremony at Gornick Auditorium, Gaylord High School.
