Minutes of special meeting of Charlton Township Board - March 27, 2002
A special meeting of the Charlton Township Board was called to order by Chairman Willis Walker at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2002.
Board members present: Walker, Samkowiak, Milbocker and Maschke.
Board members absent: Huff.
Others present: Jeff Radcliffe, Don dark, Marian Walker, Jim and Donna Quandt, Gary Payne, Vickie Hoecherl and Fran Kuntz.
Meeting called for the purpose of discussing the grant application for a streetscape project with local business people and any other item that may come before the board.
Jeff Radcliffe of the Otsego County Economic Alliance was present at the meeting and gave those present an update on the status of the grant application we have through the Michigan Development Block Grant Program. The application is for approximately $ 430,000 worth of work on a streetscape project we wish to do in conjunction with the scheduled 2003 work by the MDOT on M-32 in Charlton Township.
Jim Quandt asked about maintenance on the streetscape project after it has been completed. Jeff stated that that would be up to the township. Gary Payne asked about a snowmobile trail into town to do away with snowmobilers trespassing on private property. This item would need to be addressed. Jim Quandt then asked about the MDOT project and what they will be doing.
Talked about the speed limit through Johannesburg. Currently, it Is 55 mph. Those present thought that it should be lowered.
Board members then went through employment applications for the position open due to the resignation of Pat Kundrat.
Meeting adjourned at 9:40 pm.
