Minutes of special meeting of Charlton Township Board—October 10, 2001
A special meeting of the Charlton Township Board was called to order by Chairman Willis Walker at 5:45 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2001.
Board members present: Walker, Milbocker, Samkowiak and Maschke.
Board members absent: Huff.
Others present: Pat Kundrat.
Meeting called for the purpose of opening snowplowing bids and any other item that may come before the board.
Opened three (3) bids for snowplowing:
Chet Koronka bid $31.00 per hour for pickup truck for the hall/fire barn and office/library job. He also bid $60.00 per hour for loader work.
Bear Lake Services bid $40.00 per hour for snowplowing at the hall/library and waste station.
Earthworks Enterprises, Inc., bid $38.00 per hour for the waste station for pickup truck; $59.00 per hour for big truck; $68.00 per hour for loader; $15.00 per yard for sanding.
Maschke moved, Samkowiak supported, to award the bid for snowplowing at the hall/fire hall/library/office to Chester Koronka for a per hour bid of $31.00 per hour for pickup truck and $60.00 per hour for loader with the understanding that he realizes that the job is considered on area. We are attempting to avoid being billed an hour minimum for the office /library and being billed as hour minimum for the hall/fire hall. Ayes, all. Motion carried.
Discussed the fire standby fee we received from Chester Township according to the contract we have with them for fire protection. The current fee of $4,000.00 was set in 1986. Will take this matter up at the next regular meeting so that we may notify the Chester Board three (3) months prior to the due date.
