Maschke moved, Milbocker supported to accept the Treasurer's report as presented.  Ayes, all.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Olen gave a report on county activities.  He stated that the new county zoning ordinance and the animal control ordinance will probably be approved at the next county commissioner's meeting.  Lee stated that the new animal control ordinance will include Vanderbilt and the City of Gaylord.  He also stated that the new 9-1-1 director is in place.  Skip Diercks gave a brief report on the new zoning ordinance.

Old Business.

Talked about the new fire truck project t that Gary Koronka is working on.  Gary stated that the new fire truck is in service and that he has done little toward the conversion of the tankers.  There was much discussion about why other firefighters were not working on the project and why Gary has to do all the work.  Gary stated that he has expensive tools and that the other fireman do not have the expertise to do the work.  He was asked why he should be paid at a rate of $50.00 per hour when he does the same type of work for West Shore, Inc., at a considerably lower rate.  He stated that the township was getting a god deal because we do not have to pay West Shore $65.00 per hour for the work.

After more discussion, Milbocker moved, Samkowiak supported, to accept the quote of $11,500.00 from Gary Koronka for work on the new fire truck and for work to transfer tanks from the 103 to old 101 and from 102 to 103.  $5,00.00 to be given to Gary Koronka as a down payment on the job with the balance of $6,500.00 to be paid upon completion of the work.  Ayes, all.  Motion carried.

Fire Chief Koronka stated that he will get wuotes from other fire equipment companies when he is ordering items for the fire department instead of getting everything from West Shore Fire, Inc., without a price quote.

Talked about snowplowing bids.  Bids were due on Monday, October 8, 2001.  Since Monday is a holiday, there was no mail.  Thought that it may be best to wait to open bids until after mail was received to see if more bides were available.

Milbocker moved, Maschke supported, to open snowplowing bids on October 10, 2001, at a special meeting of the board to be held at 5:45 pm.  Ayes, all.  Motion carried.

Maschke moved, Milbocker supported, to transfer $30,000.00 from 101-451 (local roads and signs) to 101-335-977 (fire new equipment).  Ayes, all.  Motion carried.

Milbocker moved, Maschke supported, to pay the General Operation bills presented in the amount of $26,807.39. Ayes, all.  Motion carried.
