Minutes of regular meeting of Charlton Township Board - March 12, 2001 |

The regular January meeting of the Charlton Township Board
was called to order by Chairman Willis Walker at 7:00 pm on Monday, March 12, 2001.
All board members present. Others present: Duane Branch, Pat Kundrat, Tammy Myers, Lee Olsen, Eber Wolf, Bob Fleury, Jos. Edwardtowski, Marian Walker, Chester Koronka, Jim Quandt. Walker led everyone in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Milbocker moved, Huff supported, to accept the minutes of the previous regular meeting as printed. Ayes, all. Motion carried. Kim Samkowiak gave the Treasurer's report with the following ending FY 2000-01 balances on hand: General operation, $240,134.21; Roads account, $332,919.68.. Maschke moved, Huff supported, to accept the Treasurer's report as presented. Ayes, all. Motion carried. Lee Olsen stated that the 800 MHZ radios will be installed soon and that training will also begin soon. He also notified the board that the Otsego County Library is looking to expand the main branch in Gaylord and will probably be asking for a millage. Old Business. Deb Milbocker gave a report on a road commission meeting she and Keith attended. She stated that Chippewa Trail has had some matting installed in some low spots and that this should stabilize the areas. Also, F-97 from Old State Road to the county line will be improved sometime in the next three (3) years. Heatherton Road is also expected to get some work by 2003. Deb talked about the web site she is developing for the township. She has it nearly complete but it is not installed on the web yet. Lee Olsen stated that the Economic Alliance has started and that the county has funded $20,000 this year and will fund $25,000 each of the next two (2) years to house the director and staff at the Alpine Center. Talked about the proposed work on M-32. Keith stated that there are a number of people wanting a blinker light in Vienna at Meridian Line Road. There should be at least be a reduction of speed through Vienna. Huff moved, Milbocker supported, that the township full
time residents may send letters to contest property tax assessments to the
board of review instead of having to appear in person. Ayes, all. Motion
carried. Talked about a new truck for the fire department. Milbocker moved, Huff supported, to pay the General
Operation bills presented in the amount of $ 14,462.65.
This closes out FY 2000-01. Ayes, all. Motion
carried. Meeting adjourned
at 7:45 pm. |
